A few more pictures from Vermont City Marathon

Near the beginning of the race running through downtown Burlington
Here you can see racing kitty. Looking towards the upper right part of this picture you can see the other runners on the course.

After the finish line

Enjoying my post race dunkin donut holes. Notice the big box of donuts right in front of me....it was awesome. The only thing that would have been better was a kiddie pool filled with donut holes.

And of course runners were given finishers VT Cheddar cheese. You will notice my finishers cheese was the size of a butter stick. In fact by the end of my post race treats I seriously thought I was going to have a heart attack from all the less than healthy food! But it was so good.
In fact in addition to the cheese, donut holes and other treats I also had (but did not get a picture) a small container of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
I can't wait for next year!

Only a kiddie pool?

And you call yourself an endurance runner? For shame!

Excellent post-race fare! Gimme junk food anyday :)

After a few hours of chugging gels and/or Gatorade type substances, a slab of cheddar would be about as good as an antidote that I can think of. (Washed down with some "Hocus Pocus" or similar type amber liquid of course.)

Glaven,

I am truly ashamed by my pitiful wish, what I really needed was an olympic pool sized contraption filled with donut holes.

That would be good! I bet I could out eat Homer Simpson in a donut eating contest (even that episode when he ate all the donuts when we died and was banised to hades)

Joy,

Considering you like post race junkfood, perhaps you like "during race junkfood" because if so, the Richmond Marathon is the right race for you. There are junk food stops at several locations along the course!

Jimbo,

Now you understand the mentality of an ultra-runner (and perhaps my need for excruciating detailed and long pre-race lists...because I go from one event to the next hopped up on endorphins, beer and sugar-sweetened products!)
