Aimless wandering in New Orleans

Today I tried to stretch my legs after yesterdays marathon by walking around New Orleans. Unfortunately it was rainy and cold today. But I did get to go to Mardi Gras World and saw some floats that will be used in this years parade as well as floats from previous years. I also wandered around bourbon street/french quarter. It was alot of fun.

I also stumbled on the best eatery "Mothers" restuarant a really tasty place with po-boys, ettoufee and many other southern specialties. I ate there for both lunch and dinner trying different foods. It was really good!

It is going to be a little warm this weekend. Be careful in Huntsville.

congrats once again...from the looks of the food and drink at those aid stations, I would keep stopping and never make it to the end!!! or in 6 or 7 hours and enjoy myself the whole way like you did...
good luck at RR and be sure and cheer on anthony and wayne! 50 miles will seem like cakewalk for you --no pun intended!

Hi Tom,

I'll be careful. It sounds like the weather will be perfect for me since I LOVE warm weather. If you have a bit of time feel free to drive a few hours to see me:-)

Hi Emmy,

Thanks for the congrats! It was hard to leave the aid stations, the "bandit aid stations" and regular aid stations really know how to treat runners like royalty! That is why I plan to keep coming back year after year.

I'll definitely be cheering on Wayne, Anthony and others at RR. You're right, the 50 miles shouldn't be too bad (cause it's not 100!). I will be volunteering at night at the main aid station; so when they come in I'll gentle encourage them to keep on moving!

Take care,
Tammy
